Our Story
Aloha
At Lehua Lena Nursery, Native Hawaiian plants are our passion! We began as a tiny greenhouse in Hawaiian Acres and for over 30 years, Allie Atkins and her ʻohana have been specializing in the propagation of these special Hawaiian plants. We have propagated over 50 species, many of which are available now.
Allie has also been teaching about plants at Hawaii Community College for over 15 years and hosts talk stories and workshops around the island.
The preservation of native species in the wild is an important part of mālama 'āina.
Our small business was created to help supply Hawaiʻi island with native plants for both conservation groups and local residents. Together these conservation efforts will restore our forests back to their original vigor.
Let us help you start your own garden.
Mahalo and happy planting!
